I didn't miss training because it had become so painful for me. I filled the void pretty quickly as I went straight into coaching and it was great I had to start learning all over again, and then when I went into TV I knew nothing about it so I had to start from the very beginning.
I enjoy learning about different periods and people, and then taking what's universal about the human condition and seeing where it matches up. No matter where you are, certain things unite everybody.
Learning is what most adults will do for a living in the 21st century.
I can look back at stuff I wrote in my early days and squirm at some of the mistakes I made. But we're all learning every day we never stop. I just hope people keep on liking what I do. That gives me such a kick.
